Advection 2D - A cone representing a passive scalar is advected in a steady velocity field, which corresponds to solid body rotation.   Advection 2D - A square block representing a passive scalar is advected in a steady velocity field, corresponding to solid body rotation.   Heat diffusion 2D - Part of a square metal sheet, in the shape of the letter R, is initially raised from 0 to 100oC, and then allowed to cool.
